Important: The official Hedera Wallet is being deprecated on May 31st, 2021 — please read this blog posting for instructions on how to migrate to a third-party wallet. Please securely document your mnemonic phrase, private key, and account ID.
Hedera cannot express strongly enough the need for you to back up your public and private keys, seed phrase, and account ID from the Hedera Wallet. Hedera does not keep this information and cannot restore Hedera accounts — you are the only person that has access to this information.
Found below are the steps to securely document your public / private key, account ID, and mnemonic recovery phrase:
Open the Hedera Wallet (iOS / Android) side-drawer and tap “Recovery Phrase”
Follow the on-screen instructions to copy and securely store all of the recovery words (mnemonic phrase).
Open the Hedera Wallet (iOS / Android) side-drawer and tap “Default Account”
Copy and securely store the “Account ID”, “Public Key”, and “Private Key”.
Note: You’ll need to first reveal your private key within the Wallet application by tapping “DISPLAY” in the top-right corner of the “Private Key” field.
